Open Water Swim Workouts

Join us every Tuesday evening at 5:30pm and Sunday morning at 9:30am for Open Water Swimming workouts. We will meet at East Beach in front of Cabrillo Pavilion to start the swim.  We swim in a group and each workout will be approximately 45-50 minutes.  During the workouts we will work on open water skills such as sighting, drafting, quick turns around bouys, race strategy and starts.

Costs:

Santa Barbara Masters and Gaucho Masters members - $50 for the summer  

Non members - $80/summer   

Punch Cards - 5 swims for $60

Other Information

Water temps can range from 57-62 degrees – wet suit recommended

Open Water Workouts - Newbie Series

This series is geared for more beginner (newbie) swimmers that would like to try open water swimming and/or improve their swim leg of triathlons.   This is a weekly workout/instructional session that gets you acclimated to open water swimming and give you more confidence in open water.   The  30 minute class will be held at East Beach in front of the Cabrillo Pavilion at 5pm.

 instructional workouts will include:

1. Recommended gear/wetsuits

2. Race strategy and race starts

3.  Open Water Skills (sighting, drafting, stroke based upon water conditions, turns)

4.  Conditioning

Cost:

6 sessions for $100 

NOTE:  Series will require 6 registrants

Spring Weekend Masters Camp

Spring Weekend Masters Camp

Come join us for our combined training and skill development camp to help you achieve your spring championship season goals! We will work with you to become more mindful in your swimming to improve your stroke mechanics.  2014 USMS Coach of the Year Cokie Lepinski and USCB Assistant Coach Ellie Monobe will be joining SB Multisplash coaches Abrami and Stori to improve our swimmer:coach ratio.  This action packed weekend includes stroke and turn clinics, innovative workouts, yoga, foam rolling and other recovery discussions. We will provide videotaping and professional feedback on all four competitive swim strokes.  VO2 Max Testing and Cryotherapy Treatment available for an additional fee.

Package Includes:

Friday March 2nd

6-7:15am or Noon-1pm - Optional swim with Santa Barbara Masters

5:00pm Registration, Videotaping, Freestyle Clinic (Classroom), Freestyle Drills and Mid Distance/Sprint Workout. Sandwich dinner provided at pool

Saturday March 3rd

Stretching/Yoga session, IM/Stroke, Mid Distance and Sprtint am workout, Back/Breast Clinic (Classroom), Breast/Back  Pool Drills and PM HIIT/Power Circuit pool workout and Camp Dinner

Sunday March 4th

IM/Stroke, Mid Distance and Sprint am workout, Fly and Nutrition Discussion (Classroom),  Fly Drills, Video Reviews, Lunch and Optional Open Water Pool Workout @ 2pm.

New Year's Resolution Masters Swim Camp

Santa Barbara Masters will help you kick off the new year with our third annual New Year’s training camp.    The objective ofour destination training camp is to jump start your 2018season with some serious training and fun! We realize this is your vacation time so we encourage you explore all that the Santa Barbara region has to offer during your down time. We will be conducting a mix of challenging and informative pool swimming, circuit training and dry land workouts.  Additionally, we will be providing guest speakers on topics ranging from growth mindset, yoga/stretching and nutrition/wellness.  Our professional coaching staff will be providing stroke analysis and personal feedback during all practices.

Want a mega boost to your open water swimming? Try our Semana Nautica Open Water Training Camp held during Santa Barbara's annual sporting festival.  The objective of this training camp is to give you daily experience with open water races as well as methods to optimize your recovery post-race and workouts.

Summer is the perfect time to improve your open water swimming!   SB Multislash offers offers weekly open water swims to help you hone your open water skills – nothing improves yours open water skills more than open water experience.  The more water conditions you swim in, the more confidence you will have going into your races.
